Scottish-born actress (1882–1963) best known for her role as landlady Mrs. Hudson in the Sherlock Holmes movies of the 1930s and 1940s. She also had several bit roles in Universal’s Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, The Invisible Man, and The Mummy’s Tomb. Vintage matte-finish 4.5 x 6.75 photo, signed and inscribed in fountain pen “To Frances, We’ll take a cup o’ kindness for Auld Lang Syne, Yours aye, Mary Gordon.” Scattered mild foxing and a bit of light silvering along right side, otherwise fine condition.
