Scarce and desirable vintage glossy 7.5 x 9.75 20th Century Fox promotional photo of Rathbone as the gun-wielding Sherlock Holmes in The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, signed in fountain pen. The reverse bears several “Wilkinson Collection” ink stamps and typed information on the film. In very good condition, with tack holes to edges, lightly trimmed edges, and corners, tear and notations to bottom border, missing lower corner tips, and mounting remnants along reverse bottom edge. Many of the faults can be minimized by proper matting and framing. Rathbone, while fairly obtainable in most forms, is strangely almost nonexistent in signed photos as Sherlock Holmes.
