This lot includes a Sheridan Products, INC. Model C, Silver Streak pellet gun. Sheridan products were crafted in Racine, Wisconsin, and named after Civil War General - Philip Sheridan - Not the Wyoming city. Sheridan Products came about in the early 1940's when Co-Founder - Ed Wackerhagen was dissatisfied with a pellet gun used by his son, and set out to build one of the finest airguns in history - the Model A. The Model A was a fine piece of equipment, though the MSRP of $56.50 proved to high for the airgun market. Slow sales brought about the Model B, with an MSRP of $35. With an MSRP still to high for the market, the Model C "Streak" was introduced, and with a $23.95 price tag - Sheridan Products came into profitability. Introduced in 1949, the Silver Streak featured a walnut stock, aluminum receiver, and a bronze barrel. The Streak was dubbed either "Silver", or "Blue" - Silver being finished with a nickel plate, and blue with a black oxide finish. The airgun is marked on the right side of the barrel, reading "Sheridan Products Inc. - Racine, WIS. - Made In U.S.A.", and on the left side with "Silver Streak". Overall, the airgun shows good condition, operating smoothly, and showing the majority of wear on the walnut butt-stock. The pellet gun measures 36 3/4" long, and 4 1/2" wide at the butt-stock.
