Antique Sheffield silver candlesticks telescoping pair, ca. 1820. This pair of Sheffield silver candlesticks are fine examples of English Regency high style. Both silver candlesticks show seam lines. Quality details include 3 borders of fine gadrooning, 5 bands of multiple threading, nice knopped columnar form. Removable bobeches have gadrooned edges (one bobeche with repair to edge split). One stick has telescope malfunction, won't stay open; this one with more wear to silver, i.e. more copper showing through. Both have weighted bottoms. No makers mark visible. 8.5 inches H, base diameter 4.5 inches. A handsome stylish pair of antique candlesticks.
