An experimental title that gave creators the freedom to explore stories and graphic storytelling techniques not necessarily available to them in mainstream comics, <B>Cheval Noir</B></I> ("Dark Horse" in French) brought such names as Moebius, Jacques Tardi, John Bolton, Brian Bolland, Phillipe Druillet, Rick Geary, Everett Peck, and Geof Darrow to an audience hungry for something different. The cover offered here, by the exceptional Shawn McManus, is a spot-on satire of our current "TV Generation." Even more appropriate in today's world of reality TV and media-manufactured celebrities than it was in 1993, this is a classic piece by a great artist. Measuring approximately 14" x 20" overall, this piece is in excellent condition and is signed by the artist. <B>Estimate: $800-up</B> </FONT></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE><BR><!--<a name="PricesRealized"></a> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" bgcolor="#000000"> <tr> <td width="100%"> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="3"> <tr> <td width="100%" bgcolor="#79735C"> <a name="PR"> <font face="arial" size="3" color="#FFFFFF"> <b>Previous Prices from Heritage Auctions</b> </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#F6F6ED"> No Prior Data Recorded </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#FFFFFF"> <font face="arial" size="1""> PLEASE NOTE: All prices realized reflect the final hammer price PLUS the buyer's premium in auctions that charge a buyer's premium. On occasion eBay live bid software cannot keep up with the pace of the auctions where 4-5 lots per minute can hammer down, so we recommend that you place a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment.
