Sharps type I .22 cal rimfire pepperbox derringer, period scroll or factory engraved, original ivory grips, inscribed in script on backstrap "Moorhead". Purportedly 1 of a pair from the family of senator Moorehead who served during the civil war era #35953. The derringer remains in original good to very good condition with 40 - 60% blue drifting to patina on bbl's with some light erosion and pin-prick pitting just starting. The frame shows traces of silver plate and crisp "factory" style scroll engraving which matches on the bbl's. The original "fat" grips are very good plus w/a lovely patina. The markings are sharp, the action crisp and working. Tom Seymour Collection. Est. $1,500 - $3,000.
