Sharps new model 1863, .52 caliber percussion carbine, blue and case hardened finish, varnish wood stocks with iron patchbox, serial #57631. The barrel shows 90-95% of an old arsenal type reblued finish. The action shows 75-85% bright case hardening, just some slight staining, drifting, minor losses, with some vivid colors and dried oil. The The patchbox and buttplate show 20-30% case hardening within a patina, stocks show 30-40% varnish with many scratches, dings, and mars, and a light outline of an old cartouche. Many small scratches, dings, and mars. The breech block shows bright original blue as do the small parts. The bore is near excellent. Probably an overrun or return that was upgraded and sold on the commercial market, in any case a good looking carbine with a lot of finish. Est: $1,750 - $2,750
