Sharps model 4-b 32 rimfire “bull dog” derringer finely factory or period engraved, gold wash and advertisement from noted derringer expert and dealer C. W. Slagle “factory engraved, factory gold, factory silver, factory ivory.” We agree that the derringer is completely original to the 19th century and whether factory or outside sourced to New York agents is undeterminable and irrelevant. The derringer remains in very good untouched condition showing 40 – 60% silver drifting to dark patina on frame, light traces of gold gilt on bbl group mostly gone to dark brown patina, good grips with desirable yellow to dark patina and completely un-cleaned in modern times. The engraving is of excellent quality and is in the style of L.D. Nimschke. A rare and authentic Derringer. (Advertised @ $8,500 in 2005). From the Tom Seymour Collection. Est. $4,000 - $8,000
