Sharps model 1A pepperbox Derringer, .22 rimfire. Browned false Damascus finish on barrels. Period scroll-engraved frame. Fancy floral inlayed grips in original case, serial number “40032”. The barrels show approximately 40 – 60% thinning, original brown Damascus-patterned finish, with frame showing 95%+ darkened silver original plate. The grips are fine to near excellent, condition is very good + to near-fine overall. The barrels show a number ending in “85” on the rail. The derringer is contained within an original to-the-period partition-style velveteen-lined rosewood case. The case is in very-good + condition with some indentations, minor fraying, darkening, and just normal aging. The case contains cartridges, cleaning rod, key, and oiler. The exterior of the case is veneered rosewood and in very good condition, with just some minor scratches, normal aging. The engraving is definitely genuine to the 19th century, and the ornamentation on the barrels is possibly unique. The Tom Seymour Collection. Est.: $3,500 - $7,000.
