Sharps model 1863, .52 caliber, percussion carbine, blue and case hardened finish, iron patchbox and mountings, #93242. The barrel shows 80-90% evenly toning and aging original blue finish. The lock and action show 80-90% originalcase hardening with rainbow colors just going slightly light, but fully covering the frame. The markings are sharp, the edges are good, the breech shows "New Model" marking. The buttplate and patchbox show 75-85% case hardening, as does thefloorplate and lever. The small parts and screws show bright fire blue, the action is tight, the bore is excellent. The stocks are excellent to near new and still a little fuzzy, just some miniscule storage marks. The stocks were nevercartouched, indicating overrun or private or state sale. A gem of a carbine. Est: $4,500 - $9,000
