Sharps Springfield Altered Model cartridge military rifle, .50-70 cal., 35” round barrel, two barrel bands, sling swivels, iron cleaning rod, no bayonet lug, “US” marked iron butt plate, wood stocks, #157361. Thisgun is in overall good to very good condition showing a light grey patina on the barrel with scattered areas of erosion with heaviest at the muzzle; case hardened frame has gone to a brown color with slight traces of colorin protected areas; good action, dark bore, left side of barrel at breech is stamped “46”; wood stocks are overall good with scattered mars and oil staining confined primarily to the fore end; rear upper tangscrew a replacement. A desirable variation of the famous Sharps rifle. Est.: $2,000-$4,000.
