Sharps New Model Carbine, arsenal converted to .50-70 caliber, blue and case hardened finish, cartouche wood stocks, serial #C24886. The barrel shows 30-50% original blue drifting to brown patina with some scattered erosion and pinprick pitting. No evidence of Sharps or Model markings, “C.P.” faint inspector’s marks on breech. The frame shows 30-50% case hardening mixed with grayish brown patina with some colorful rainbow areas where protected. The metal surfaces are good and sharp, markings are sharp on lock, some scattered light erosion and pinprick pitting just starting. The stocks are good to very good with some minor dings, mars, scratches, slight losses, minor imperfections. The left stock is marked with a large “L 10” near the butt. The buttstock shows a good “E.F” cartouche which is fully visible beneath that saddle ring bar. Also frame, barrel, breech, are all stamped with a large “F” inspection. The buttplate shows 20-30% mottled grey case hardening, the action is tight, the bore near excellent, the correct sights and small parts are all retained. Est: $1,500 - $3,000
