Sharps New Model Arsenal Conversion to .50-70 cal., remaining in fine to excellent original condition, #78983. The barrel shows 6-groove rifling and a near mint bore. The barrel retains 95-98% original blue with good address and New Model markings. The frame shows 90-95% original rainbow case hardening, just aging slightly. The screws show bright fire blue. The stocks show an exceptional grain and slight burl and are of commercialquality with a sharp inspection mark “DFC” at left center of butt stock. The barrel band and butt plate show most of their case hardening. A strong 9.7 on a 1-10 scale; difficult to upgrade upon! Est.:$4,000-$8,000.
