Sharps New Model 1863 marked, .52 caliber, three band percussion breech loading rifle, serial number 39272. The rifle remains in original good condition showing a brown to gray patina finish and traces of old lacquer finish which is turnedto brown. The stocks are fair to good with some small losses, some large chips missing, light re-staining and minor cleaning. The rear swivel is missing. The markings are good on the side of the frame and lock. The breech end of the barrel isinspector marked M.N.M. S. The action works well and the bore is rough. William A.
