Sharps New Model 1859, .52 caliber percussion rifled musket with stud for saber bayonet, serial number 36943 nicely restored to excellent condition. The blue and case hardening is nearly perfectly achieved andthe stock is fine to excellent original condition and may have been a Bannerman left over from military surplus stores as it is near mint original with no inspection marks. The bore is very good plus to near fine andis still bright and shiny with some scaling or dirt that may clean. A really nice looking and attractive Sharps that was in a local collection for 20 years before the collector discovered the fact that it was refinishedand markings enhanced. Est.: $1,750-$3,500.
