Sharps Model 1874 Sporting rifle, .45 caliber, 30” octagon barrel, S/N 160933, brown patina, single trigger, wood stocks with pewter forend tip in overall good to very good condition with a very good bore, crisp action, partial rear sight,replaced blade in front sight and additional dovetail (plugged) on top of barrel in front of existing rear sight base. Accompanied by a factory letter indicating shipment to Ben Kittridge and Co., Cincinnati, Ohio, invoiced onAugust 20, 1877; caliber and barrel length are confirmed with notation that the weight of the gun was 11 lbs., 15 oz. however the letter indicates double set triggers. A nice looking big game, including buffalo, rifle from an old Montanacollection. (Antique). Est.: $4,000-$8,000.
