Sharps Model 1874 Sporting rifle, .45-70 cal., 30” octagon barrel, blue finish, double set triggers, open sights, wood stocks, checkered steel butt plate, #159807 accompanied by factory letter confirmingfeatures and indicating weight as 9 pounds, 13 ounces with a cost of $42 and shipment to N. Curry and Co., San Francisco, California on July 13, 1878. The gun is in overall very good condition with a grey/brown patina, very good bore, crisp action, sharp markings, good wood with scattered old mars and scratches from carry and storage, old sliver of wood loss on the right side of the forend ; barrel serial number matches receivernumber.
