Sharps Model 1874 #1 Long Range Target single shot rifle, .44-90 cal., 34” octagon barrel, blue and case hardened finish, single trigger, checkered wood stocks with pistol grip and checkered steel butt plate, #155120 with copy of factory letterdated April 13, 1976 indicating rifle shipped on January 19, 1876 to Edward L. Baker of Red Wing, Minnesota and noting it as a Model 1874 Special Long Range rifle Number One, caliber 44 with a 34” octagon barrel, list price of $110; signed by the late Dr. R.L. Moore who also stated “The gun was shipped shortly before the move from Hartford to Bridgeport”. This rare rifle is in fine to excellent condition showing the majority of its original blue finish on the barrel as well as themajority of its beautiful original case colors on the receiver, loading lever and hammer. The bore is fine, the action crisp and the markings are sharp; the wood stocks show beautiful graining and are also in fine condition with some scatteredminor old mars and scratches from storage and a slight chip to the front of the edge of the pistol grip. The standard Lawrence flip-up rear ladder sight is present along with an adjustable Vernier tang sight and an adjustable hooded spirit level
