Sharps Model 1851 sporting rifle, .44 cal. percussion, 28" round barrel, brass mounts, 44" overall. One of only 400 produced making them one of the rarest of all Sharps production arms, refer Fladerman 5F-004. The gun remains in original good condition showing a gray to brown patina finish with some bright original brown on the barrel, and with good clear Robbins and Lawrence stamp on the barrel; 1845 patent date visible ontape primer door, other markings very light and only visible under magnification in this area. The tang is well marked, C Sharps patent 1848 with serial #1896. The stock is in good condition with some dings, mars,scratches, a couple of gouges; small loss at toe of butt but sound overall with good uncleaned patina on the brass. The original rear sight remains, the front sight is an old replacement in the correct dovetail. Thetang is drilled for a sight which is not present. Little John's will pay for packing and materials. Buyer pays actual costs of shipping and insurance. All International purchases will be sent to an exporter for shipment to foreign countries. International buyers agree to pay all cost incurred including all shipping, insurance, exporter fees, all custom and duty fees associated with shipment. Post 1898 firearms must be shipped to a Federal Firearms Licensee in your place of residence. All Federal, State and Local Regulations apply and MUST be strictly followed.
