SN: 160200 Exquisite antique falling block single shot target rifle chambered in .45 4/10". Manufactured circa 1877-1897 with only 46 No. 1 Long Range rifles produced. Includes a letter from Richard J Labowskie, owner of the serial number documentation from original records of the Sharps Rifle Company, that this rifle was "invoiced at the Bridgeport factory on January 27, 1887 to P. Webley & Sons, Birmingham, England". Features beautify hand engraved vine style floral scroll on the barrel & receiver with silver bands on the barrel, bison scene on the left side of the receiver & bull elk on the right, blued 34" part round/part octagon barrel marked "Old Reliable" & "SHARPS RIFLE CO. BRIDGEPORT.", windage adjustable globe front sight with aperture insert & spirit level, tang mounted Vernier peep sight, knurled trigger, knurled hammer spur, case hardened receiver, point checkered plain walnut forend with schnabel forend and pistol grip shoulder stock with inlayed plate for an addition sight mount, checkered bare grip cap & double diamond checkered hard rubber buttplate. Includes a 1993 dated, typed letter with Rifle Ranch letterhead signed by Jim Wilkinson, stating that this was purchased by him from famed collector Maurice C. Clark "over thirty years ago". The barrel is numbered "156739" and is also stamped "10/5 16". The forend is stamped "7863" and is also numbered "156739" in pencil. The rear sight is numbered "158220". The barrel is double banded at the muzzle and at the breach, the bands appear to be silver and pewter. The rifle retains approximately 99%+ of it's blued and case hardened finish with only a single scratch on the right side of the receiver observed. Action is sound, the bore is bright with good rifling & a small amount of light pitting, Markings are very good and the wood stocks are very good with a harline crack from the receiver to the stock screw on the left side of the wrist & the toe of the grip cap shows a small repair.
