Promising American actress (born 1943) and wife of director Roman Polanski who was propelled into infamy when she was murdered by the Manson Family at the age of 26 in the notorious killing spree that shook the nation in the summer of 1969. ALS signed “Roman & Sharon,” one page of floral stationery, 8.5 x 11, [1968]. Tate writes Anna Willoughby in London. In full: “Sorry I didn’t get to chat with you—but the reception was so packed I couldn’t even find Roman. Thank you so much for the mugs—I want you to know those are the only 2 cups we have in the house! We should be on our way back in a month or so—we hope to see you then.” In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope postmarked March 7, 1968, in Hollywood. Tate is rare in any form, and letters are few and far between.
