Collection of 5 Albumen CDVs of the famous Western mountain man. Each card 4” x 2 3/8” overall with c. 1864 mounted images. a) Seth, bust image, holding rifle. (Alex Gardner); b) Seth, seated with rifle across his lap (Philp & Soloman); c) Seth, standing and leaning on rifle (Mathew Brady); d) Elk Horn Chair, a gift from Seth to President Abraham Lincoln (Philp & Soloman); e) The Grizzly-Bear Chair presented to President Andrew Johnson by Seth (Mathew Brady). All in overall fine condition with some slight staining and edge wear. Kinman was a Pennsylvania born trader, trapper and one time forty-niner who claimed to have killed over 800 grizzly bears in Humboldt County, California over 20 years.
