Set of Vinyl Records from MGM
Right out of the archives of MGM’s legendary recording studios of the 1940’s and 1950’s these are the extremely rare original steel and vinyl Master Record disks that are "cut" during the original recording sessions. They are used both for the final master mix of the entire film, and also played during rehearsals with the actors and dancers, and used during the actual production as play-back on the sound stages. These master recordings are from some of the most famous MGM musicals of all time, including “The Bandwagon”, “Seven Brides For Seven Brothers”, and “Always Fair Weather”. Also included are the MGM classics "This Time For Keeps" "Give A Girl A Break" and "Deep In My Heart". Includes a CD transfer of everything recorded on the masters, including the fully orchestrated music, all the outtakes, countdowns, false starts and cross-talk between the musicians, composers, singers, conductors, and engineers. It’s as if you were right there when these classic recordings were first made! Some of the many voices on these two sided masters (recorded in 80 RPM!), are Gene Kelly, Dan Dailey, Michael Kidd, Debbie Reynolds, Jose Ferrar, Jimmy Durante, Xavier Cugat, Esther Williams, Marge and Gower Champion, Vic Damone. Howard Keel, Jane Powell and Nanette Fabray as well as some of the most famous "ghost singers" in Hollywood. One of the largest collections of Master Recordings in one place ever offered. This lot includes 14 double sided master disks all with their original labels.
