Good condition

This set of six wine cups with a matching tray dates to 19th Century China. The wine cups are delicately decorated with fine relief work showing pine trees and bamboo groves – signifiers of longevity. Amidst the lush nature tiny figures and pagodas are rendered in the finest manner. The tray shows a finely engraved landscape with further lucky symbols from Chinese mythology such as the hawk, deer and pine tree. The rim shows fine repoussé work with pine branches and bamboo leaves. The set is presented in its original box.



The set is in good condition with signs of age and use. The relief of one of the cups shows a small, restored crack. The box is rubbed along the edges. The cups each measure 4.5 cm in height. The tray measures 19.5 x 13.5 cm.
