Included here is a matching set of four Regency style painted armchairs made by F.P. Victoria & Son, Inc. of New York and Bridgehampton NY. Each measures 33.75" high, 20.25" wide, 22" deep, and has a seat height of 15.75".
Painted blue-green and gilt-finish, featuring curved tablet crest with inset beige suede panel, molded curvate arms, cane seat fitted with beidge suede cushion, incurvate squared sabre legs, and caned seats. There are a few light stains to the caning on one chair. The suede cushions have some wear, light stains, and a few buttons are missing. The painted finish has chipped away in spots on a couple of the chairs, and this wear is most apparent on the rear of the crestrails. Victoria is one of America's oldest and finest makers of 18th and 19th century reproductions. In business continually since 1903, they recently opened a showroom in the Fine Arts Building at 232 East 59th Street in Manhattan.

Additional images gladly forwarded upon request.

This set comes from the collection of Roni Steinberg Sokoloff, and resided in her former 63-acre estate in Bedford NY known as Cantitoe Farms. (The estate is down the street from Martha Stewart's estate of the same name.) The chairs were purchased new by Ms. Sokoloff around 1980.
