Distinguished Japanese actor (1889–1973) best known for his Oscar-nominated portrayal of a prison-camp commander in the film Bridge on the River Kwai. Vintage glossy 10 x 8 Columbia Pictures promotional photo from the film Bridge on the River Kwai, signed in fountain pen, “With my best regards, Sessue Hayakawa,” adding a line of Japanese script. Scattered mild creasing, a small tear to the right edge, and some light silvering to the darker areas of the image, otherwise fine condition.
