SERMONS AGAINST POPERY, PREACHED AT SALTERS-HALL, IN THE YEAR 1735. By Several Ministers. In Two Volumes [of which this is Vol. I only]. London: Printed for John Noon, Thomas Cox, Richard Ford, Richard Hett, and John Gray, 1735. 12mo (7 5/8" x 5"). Brown leather, raised bands on spine. Seven sermons are included in this volume, by John Barker, Samuel Chandler, Daniel Neal, George Smith, Samuel Wright, W. Harris,  Condition: Poor; the front cover is detached and not present; gilt is worn from the spine, losses of leather at ends of spine, spine label missing; back cover partially detached and allover worn/scratched, boards showing. Ex libris stamp and old owner's inscription on title page.There is scattered old marginalia/lines and notes at back; one engraved page header and decorative initial colored in with red by a previous owner, and in at least one other area. Pages are soiled to varying degrees, toning/foxing (considerable in some sections), several spots of dampstain, a number of small tears at edges.
