Russian-born Jewish conductor, composer and double-bassist (1874–1951) best known for his long tenure as music director of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. He also founded the Tanglewood Festival and taught many conductors their craft, including Aaron Copland and Leonard Bernstein. Seven signed photos, various finishes, ranging in size from 3.25 x 5.25 up to 8 x 10, each signed in ink by Serge Koussevitzky. Three inscribed. In overall very good to fine condition. Accompanied by four unsigned programs and seventeen unsigned photos ranging in size from 3.25 x 5.25 to 10.5 x 13.25. Wonderful collection of items from one of the 20th century’s greatest champions of modern music.
