Printed Document being an official Proclamation by the Governor of the State of New Hampshire, John Taylor Gilman, as Governor. It is printed upon fine quality laid period paper and is actually Signed, “Sam Sparhawk” as Governor Gilman’s Secretary. Measures 7.25” x 11.75” with a docket upon the reverse reading, “Proclamation 1813”. There are a couple of small holes from when this was originally sealed with wax in the mails and opened. Overall, clean, boldly printed and appears excellent for display. This Governor’s Proclamation reads, in full:

“State of New Hampshire. --- By the Governor. --- A Proclamation. --- THE Welfare of the State requiring that the General Court should be convened before the time to which they stand adjourned, I have thought proper by and with advice of Council, to request the attendance of the members of the Senate and House of Representatives at the Court-house in Concord, on Wednesday the Twenty-seventh day of October next. -- Given at Council chamber in Exeter, the thirtieth day of September, Anno Domini on thousand eight hundred and thirteen, and of the Indepence of the United States of America the thirty-eighth. --- JOHN TAYLOR GILMAN By the Governor. -- (Hand-Signed) “Sam Sparhawk” Secretary.”
