1837-1838 War Department, Congressional Record Imprint entitled: “Seminole Indians - Prisoners of War,” Choice Very Fine.
This official Imprint account by the 25th United States Congress, Second Session of the House of Representatives, War Department, concerns the Capturing of Native American Indians. This section is disbound, 14 pages, headed “Doc. No. 327” (in a series). The frontis page reads, “Letter from The Secretary of War” - S. Cooper, regarding information on the capture of Indians. The next sections are various reports in response which give accounts of their captures, along with numbers and locations of where the prisoners are being held. Major General Thomas S. Jesup, in one such Letter, states he has over 113 Indians captive.
