Lot of 4 including 1) One bottle 12", with top, by 4". “Highland Ginger Ale Co. San Mateo, Cal.” within square etching. Top bears no markings, siphon tube shattered in bottom of bottle. Large chip in foot, no maker’s mark. Still 3/4 full with clear liquid. Clear glass, some wear, moderate staining. 2) 12" tall, with top, by 4" wide. “Highland Ginger Ale Co. San Mateo, Cal.” within square etching. Top bears no markings, siphon tube intact. Bottom bears “Registered Trademark Made In Austria” around a crown logo maker’s mark. Clear glass, some wear, heavily stained interior. 3) 12" tall with top, by 4" wide. “Highland Ginger Ale Co. San Mateo, Cal.” within square etching. Chrome top bears no markings, siphon tube intact. Still contains liquid. Bottom bears “Registered Trademark Made In Austria” around a crown logo maker’s mark. This bottle has some attitude, with a large chip on its shoulder. Clear glass, several small bubbles, some staining. The 4 Oct 1919 Lewiston Daily Sun contains an ad that reads “ASK FOR HIGHLAND GINGER ALE ‘It’s Peerless and Pure’ ONCE A MAN TASTES HIGHLAND GINGER ALE HE WILL NEVER BE SATISFIED BY ANY OTHER. It is the Best Ginger Ale on the Market.” 4) 11.5" tall, with top, by 4" wide. Top is marked “H.S.W.” Circular front etching “H.L.” with “San Mateo” and “Bottling Works.” above and below. No maker’s mark on footed base. Clear glass, shoulder deeply cracked in 4 places, siphon tube broken in half, heavily stained interior. No known Hutchinson’s by these companies. Very little information available. This bottle quartet, from the Humboldt Soda Works Discovery, is stored in a 10" x 16" x 12" wooden crate: green paint, slots for six bottles. -59426
