Swedish writer (1858–1940) who, in 1909, became the first woman to win the Nobel Prize for Literature. ALS, one page, 5.5 x 7, January 15, 1932. Lagerlof writes from her Marbacka home in Sunne, in full: "I am a little astonished at your question. Is it not so that the way to success is originality? But how to win this you must find out in your own way. If another should solve the problem for you then it was this other man or woman who was the real genius and not you." In fine condition.
