Secret Agent (Gaumont, R-1940s). Argentinian One Sheet Secret Agent (Gaumont, R-1940s).
Secret Agent (Gaumont, R-1940s). Argentinian One Sheet (29" X 43"). John Gielgud stars as a novelist-turned-secret agent when his death is faked during WWI. With Peter Lorre as an unlikely sidekick (he had to pronounce his lines phonetically because he had just emigrated from Austria-Hungary), Gielgud must track down a German agent and perform reluctant acts of espionage. This Argentinian one sheet is most likely a reissue from the 1940s, but the stone lithograph art looks fantastic. The poster has been maintained in excellent condition, with only a small stain on the left side, a crease near the top and minor separation in the top crossfold. The reds still burst off the paper, a vital element to the haunting, expressionistic artwork of the poster. Very Fine+.
