Archer, Citizens of Texas, Agents of the People or Government thereof, and herein acting in their capacity as such, as well as for and on behalf of William H. Wharton, the other Agent, who having left this City, authorized them...deriving their authority to act in these premises from a commission issued to them by Henry Smith, Governor of Texas...authorizing the contracting of a Loan in the United States of America, of one Million of Dollars...</B></I>" Twelve lenders are listed and the amount each has lent "<I>to the People or Government of Texas</B></I>," with a total loan of $50,000. Fourteen articles detail the provisions of the loan approved by Austin, Archer, and the 12 lenders on January 18, 1836.
