Second Pattern Luftwaffe Dagger with Etched Blade and Sheath

Measuring 15 1/4 inches overall, with the double edged 10 inch blade etched on both sides, with scroll designs on the reverse and scroll designs surrounding a Luftwaffe eagle on the obverse. Yellow celluloid grip, with silver wire wrap and alloy fittings. With an oak leaf decorated metal sheath. Notes from the consignor state that the dagger was brought into the U.S. by the consignor's father, an American soldier who took the weapon out of the back seat of a German staff car in the vicinity of the Dachau concentration camp.
