It's a perfect piece that very likely traces it's history to Ed Frossard's October, 1893 fixed price listing of the S. M. Clark Collection. The partial date of December 7, 1863 is written in the left face margin. While a side by side comparison of the actual notes would be necessary to prove a certainty, we are almost positive that this note mates with Lot 1043 from our Sale of the Friedberg Collection in January of 1997, which contained the top portion of this same date in its right margin. This piece is Milton 2E50F.4. On some occasions eBay Live bid software or the Internet may not be able to keep up with the pace of the auction. We recommend placing a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Occasionally the auctioneer may eliminate or reject an eBay Live bid, and the auctioneer may also reopen a lot after the close of the eBay live bidding (usually because we missed an audience bid), and may reject your bid even if it shows you as the winning bidder.
