2 albums containing 59 mounted albumen prints by Sebah. The first album containing 35 images some titled and signed in the negative of mostly buildings and street scenes in Cairo. The second album contains 24 images primarily of the British Intervention of Egypt in 1882. The intervention was precipitated by the revolt of Colonel Arabi against the Khedive to protest increasing foreign interference of Egyptian matters. To protect its own financial interests the British sent 35,000 troops to quell the revolt. Several prints also depict Russian troops at Bourgas, Bulgaria ousting the Turks in 1878. The albums are full maroon morocco titled in gilt "Cet Album est un Souvenir de mon voyage en Egypte et en Europe Dans les AnnTes 1883-1884 - Doust Mohammed Khan Moayer el Memalek". Disbound with spines completely lacking, rubbed, mounts chipped, some fading and abrasions but on the whole images are very good. Should be seen.
