Scrappy and His Pals (Columbia, 1936). One Sheet (27" X 41"). Charles Mintz and his team of animators produced all of Columbia Studio's cartoons during the '30s. Starting with "Krazy Kat" (which was heavily influenced by Mickey Mouse), the Mintz unit cranked out many animated series, including "Scrappy and His Pals" and "Color Rhapsodies." Scrappy was unusual for his time, because most regular characters of '30s cartoons were anthropomorphic animals. This Scrappy stock sheet features the round-faced star and his friends Margie and Oopie (originally called Vontzy), as well as his Scottie dog Yippie. The poster has pinholes, edge chips, fold wear with separations, and extra fold lines along the edges, probably where it has been put in a frame. The poster has been mounted on linen and had some touch-up work, giving it a pleasing appearance. Very Good/Fine on Linen.
