Scottish regimental dirk showing crown, bugle, numeral 71. Along with fancy cast brass and high relief mounts showing Scottish thistle and other Scottish designs. The grip is nicely carved and brass studded and shows a Scottish hat and sword in the raised carving. The blade is beautifully etched showing battle honors with thistles, crown, and regimental name highland light. The reverse is also etched 7/8” of the way down the blade with stands of arms, thistles, and regimental emblems The battle honors begin at Waterloo and end at Hindoostan with 13 places listed. The blade is in near fine condition showing its original bright, just some slight aging. The brass mounts show 75-85% of their rich gold gilt. The dagger and matching trousse set show faceted stones which are a pinkish and topaz color. The scabbard is very good The handle or grip is also very good. A great regimental Scottish dagger.
