Scottish basket hilt broad sword of officer’s type circa 1800-1820. Blade marked “A & A.S.” The sword measures 37-1/2” overall with 31” blade that is 1-1/4” thick across widest part. The condition is good to verygood showing a patina with some slight pitting and erosion. The leather over wood grip is good. The wire wrap is missing and the leather shows some small losses. Est.;$2,250-$4,500.
