Scottish Military style Flintlock pistol with brass stock circa Revolutionary War era, stock shows stamp “A.H. Robinson” with small “HV” stamp and another small stamp that is not quite legible. The bottom of the stockin front of the trigger is also engraved with numbers 17643H. The top left of breech shows three proofs, one probably the barrel maker, the other two in small ovals “V&P”. The pistols measures 11-3/4” overall with7-1/8” barrel, shows a side belt hook and simple styling. The metal surfaces show a light to moderate pitting and erosion and the lock retains original small parts. The ram rod thimble is missing and the pick in thebutt has had the hole filled during period of use. Generally good overall with a few minor dents in the stock. From an old N.Y. collector’s estate.
