Scott Carpenter's bracket-bound "Introduction to Project Mercury and Site Handbook," MG-101, prepared for NASA by the Western Electric Company, dated September 1960, approximately 275 pages, 9 x 11.25, signed on the cover page in pencil, "Mercury Flight Preparation, Scott Carpenter," with another hand adding to the upper right corner, "Carpenter, C. 49." This manual presents a brief explanation of the objectives of the mission, ground monitoring and control, the flight sequence, the air-to-ground communications system, and the personnel assigned to the mission. Housed in its original orange binder. In very good to fine condition, with general light overall wear from use. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Farthest Reaches.
