A photocopy of Section 49-1922 of the Tennessee Code, outlawing the teaching of evolution, one page, 6.25 x 9.25, signed and inscribed at the conclusion in blue ballpoint, "For Seymour M. Kessler, John T. Scopes."

An ink signature, "Clarence Darrow," on an off-white 3.5 x 2 card.

TLS signed "W. J. Bryan," one page, 8.5 x 7, The Commoner letterhead, May 18, 1904, in part: "I am perfectly willing that you shall add my name to those which you have occurred and embroider it…As you put me in a class of prominent persons, some of them large means, if there is any fee attached, I shall be glad to know the amount in advance."

In overall very good to fine condition, with splitting to some of the multiple intersecting folds on the Bryan letter.
