<B>Schuyler Colfax: Original Uncut Sheet of Tintype Images for Ferrotype Badges</B></I>. This auction offers three of these, which exceeds the total handled by your writer in over three decades of active hobby involvement! Here we have ten very large 26mm images, intended for a front-and-back badge with Grant on the other side. Colfax, a congressman and Speaker of the House, was elected vice president as Grant’s 1868 running mate. While all the images have fine surface scratches, they detract minimally from the display appeal of the sheet as a whole. Like the other two ferro sheets offered here, it has been nicely matted and custom-framed (not shown in catalog photo) for display.
