Available for you in this lot is an early Schmidt & Ziegler, Stag Handle - Gamblers Boot Knife, including its original leather sheath. Schmidt & Ziegler Knives are manufactured out of Solingen, Germany and display their hallmark El Toro Bull. The boot knife features a tight handle and a polished blade. Schmidt & Ziegler Knives were imported by H. Willis Co. of Louisville KY in the late 60's-70's, Shmidt & Ziegler closed their doors in 1972, marking the end of import. Some S&Z knives found their way to the U.S. earlier by way of American GI tourists in Germany. Overall, this knife is in good condition, with only slight patina forming on the guard of the blade where it doesn't sit inside the sheath. The knife + sheath measures 8 1/2" long, 1 1/4" wide, and 3/4" thick at the end of the pommel.
