Scenes From A Mall Sterling Silver Frame Prop
Perhaps we'll never see this combination of talents working on one movie again! But in 1991 the great director Paul Mazursky, known for his ground breaking and quirky comedies, convinced Woody Allen to star in a film he was not directing himself, and to co-star with the equally legendary Bette Midler... as his wife! The movie was "Scenes From a Mall", in which an upper class couple watch their marriage and their lives slowly come apart at a Beverly Hills mall as they shop for gifts for each other for their 16th wedding anniversary. One of the most memorable moments is when, after Bette buys Woody his gift... a surf board (!), Woody takes her to an exclusive silversmith where he has ordered an incredibly expensive sterling silver frame for her.... with a portrait of their "perfect family". However, a few minutes later, while eating frozen yogurt at the food court, he admits to "just a few affairs" in the last 16 years, just two or, as he says: "three if you count that hooker in Houston". Midler goes volcanic, not only kicking him in the balls, but throwing down the silver frame and stomping the life out of it! This is that hero screen used silver frame, complete with family portrait, and also complete with Bette's foot prints and other "injuries" that it received during the assault. The Silver Frame was, of course her "dissolving" of the perfect family. Made of a sturdy faux-silver with Plexiglass, and showing Woody, Bette and their two children Mime and Sam, this is a great keepsake from a true classic, the talents of which may never join together again! Frame is a famed Sheffield from England (which is marked in the back). (Frame is 12"x 15", photo is chipped from production damage). Comes with a framed COA from Disney Studios.
