This is a scarce example of a Nazi police "Sneak" rework Luger. The left side barrel extension is marked with the commercial "crown / N" proof, the right side is marked with the "droop wing eagle / WaA 66" Waffenamt proof and there is a commercial "crown/N" proof on the left side of the breechblock. The complete serial number with suffix appears on the front of the frame and the bottom of the barrel. The partial serial number "94" appears on the takedown lever and bottom of the side plate and the rear toggle just below the rear sight. The front strap is marked "L. Ar. 282." designating use by or in the Province of Westfalen in the Arnsberg District by the Landgendarmerie (rural Police). The safety and extractor are marked "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN" respectively. Police sear safety, straw colored small parts, stock lug, checkered grips and nickel magazine with wooden base, renumbered to match the gun. Complete with a brown leather flap holster with "282" marked take down tool and nickel magazine with aluminum base, also numbered to match the gun, and marked with a */K" police acceptance mark. The back of the holster is marked "A. FISCHER / BERLIN C.2 / 1929" over a sunburst police acceptance mark on the back between the belt loops and "L.A. r. 282." behind the loops. The pistol is accompanied by a typed letter of authentication/appraisal.

Condition: Excellent. The pistol retains 95% of the original blue finish with muzzle and high edge wear, thinning on the grip straps and a few tiny dings on the top of the barrel extension. 70% of the original straw color remains on the small parts with mostly a smooth silver gray on the safety lever. The grips are also excellent with some minor wear on the left side lower edge, a few minor chips and dings on the lower right panel and crisp checkering. The markings are clear. Mechanically excellent. The holster is very good with some moderate wear and scuffs, and tight stitching.
