Scarce World War I DWM Double Date 1920/1917 Dated Artillery Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol with Navy Property Marks

This is a scarce example of a post WWI Weimar era reworked 1917 dated DWM Artillery Luger pistol with the 1920 Reichswehr property stamp and Navy proofs. This Luger has also been marked on the front grip strap with the early Weimar Navy property mark of "O.81" with the rear grip strap stamped "J.R.95.3.B.23/Anchor/M". In all respects it is still in the original WWI 1917 configuration typically associated with a late WWI German Artillery Luger. It retains the 1917 dated chamber with the additional 1920 stamp as noted above, (which was probably applied by a local armory as it?s a slightly larger size and slightly off-set), along with the "DWM" marked front toggle. The right side of the barrel extension has the original three Crown/Script inspection proofs of the DWM factory next to the Imperial Eagle acceptance proof. It is numbered in the military fashion and has all matching numbers to include the magazine. It has the standard Gesichert and Geladen marked safety area and extractor and the barrel is retains the fixed front sight and the tangent rear that is graduated from 100-800 meters. The magazine is a correct WWI nickel plate version with a wood base that is stamped "7911/e".

Manufucture: DWM
Model: 1914 Artillery
BBL: 8 inch round
Stock:
Guage: 9 mm Luger
Finish: blue
Grips: walnut
Serial Number: 7811e

Fine condition with 90% of the dull arsenal refurbished blue finish overall with edge and high spot wear. The various small parts retain 30% of the straw colors overall. The grips are excellent with nice distinct checkering and with only minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent. This is a very unusual/scarce WWI/Weimar Artillery Luger with Navy property marks.
