Scarce Winchester Model 55 Takedown Lever Action Rifle
Manufactured in 1928. Raised Lyman blade front sight with bead, sporting rear sight and half length magazine with takedown features. Standard one line Winchester nickel steel barrel marking on the left side followed by "-30 W.C.F.-" and two line address on the right side. The three line trademark information is marked on the upper tang. Mounted on a smooth forearm with steel end cap and straight grip stock with serrated steel buttplate.

Condition: Fine. The barrel retains 80% faded original finish with scratches on the underside caused by the takedown lever and thinning to a smooth plum patina at the muzzle end. The takedown ring has original finish mixed with smooth gray patina. The receiver retains 60% original finish with high edge wear and smooth brown patina where the finish has flaked. There are two center punch holes on the upper left side. The lever is a mix of smooth brown patina and original blue finish and the buttplate has a smooth brownish gray patina. The wood is very good showing a few large indentations on the upper right rear buttstock with a few overall scattered minor dings and dents. The markings remain crisp and clear. The action is excellent.
