Scarce Winchester Model 21 Tournament Skeet Grade Double Barrel Shotgun with Mutton Case

Manufactured in 1934, these "Tournament" Grade Model 21's were only made in 1933 and 1934. Ivory bead front and steel bead rear sights on the solid concave matte rib. 2 3/4 inch chambers, choked WS1/WS2 with ejectors. The top right rear barrel is marked "MODEL 21 - WINCHESTER/TRADE MARK - 12 GAUGE/2 3/4 CHAM." and the top left has the two line address. The right side of the water table is marked with the Winchester oval proof and the three line Made in U.S.A., Model and address markings, with the patent information on the left side. The trigger guard plate is marked "TOURNAMENT/SKEET" ahead of the trigger guard. Single trigger with selector, tang mounted safety and mounted with a checkered nicely figured walnut beavertail forearm and straight grip stock with a checkered bare butt. Length of pull is 14 inches. Comes with a brown leather mutton case.

Very fine as partially refinished (the barrels) and modified, the barrels have been shortened and retain 95% blue finish with some very minor wear under the forearm. The receiver retains 95% original blue finish with edge wear and some thinning on the bottom, the trigger guard plate shows some thinning on the outer edges and the trigger guard shows some thinning and bright edge wear. The wood is very fine with some minor scuffs and scratches, and crisp checkering. The markings are clear. Mechanically fine. The mutton case is good with some wear, scuffs and stains.
